Free practice exam
Privacy for the free RBT practice exam.
Here is what we save to run the free practice exam.
What we save
- An anonymous session ID in a secure browser cookie.
- Your saved answer drafts while you take the exam.
- Your submitted answers, score, and answer review after you finish.
- Activity needed to keep your attempt available in the same browser for up to 90 days.
First-party usage records
Highlight Prep separately records pseudonymous usage events when someone views the landing page, starts or resumes an exam, finishes, views results, or resets an exam. Each event includes its type, time, and an anonymous session reference when available. It does not include answer values, question wording, individual scores, explanations, email addresses, account identity, or learning details.
These first-party records remain separate from Google Analytics and continue with either analytics choice. The 90-day access period above describes returning to your exam in the same browser; it is not a promise that all server records are deleted after 90 days. For questions about stored records, contact us through Support & Corrections.
Optional Google Analytics
Google Analytics is available with your permission. We load Google's analytics code only after you choose “Accept analytics”. Choosing “Continue without analytics” keeps Google Analytics off. You can reopen “Analytics settings” at the top of any page to change or withdraw your choice.
We send fixed page labels and broad milestones: landing page viewed, exam started, exam resumed, exam completed, results viewed and exam reset. Google also generates standard analytics events and its own browser and session identifiers, and processes device/network information to provide analytics. Google requests receive network information such as your IP address; Google states that GA4 does not log or store individual IP addresses.
We do not send exam session IDs, application event IDs, account IDs, email addresses, answers, question text, scores, answer-review details or Study Plan data to Google. Page labels are fixed; query strings, fragments and incoming referrer details are excluded. Advertising storage, Google signals and ad personalization are disabled.
We save your choice in local browser storage for 180 days. With permission, Google uses the host-only cookies hp_ga and hp_ga_* for analytics, with a maximum lifetime of 180 days and automatic expiry refresh disabled. Your choice is separate from the essential cookies that save exam progress.
The configured Google event-data retention period is 2 months, and user-data retention is 2 months. Standard aggregated reports are not covered by this event-data retention limit. Withdrawing permission stops future Google collection, removes these analytics cookies and reloads the page to unload the tag. It does not delete information already sent to Google.
Google provides this analytics service. See Google's Privacy Policy, how Google uses information from partner sites, and Google Analytics retention information.
What you need
You do not need an account, email address, sign-in, or payment. If you clear site data, use private browsing, or switch browsers or devices, you may lose access to saved progress sooner.
Support and corrections
If you contact us through the Support & Corrections form, we collect the category, your email address, your message, and a question number if you provide one. We also use a short-lived form-start record and hashed network information for rate limiting, duplicate suppression, and abuse prevention. When an anonymous exam session is already present, its server-side session reference may be used for the same abuse controls.
Support submissions do not automatically include your answer selections, score, diagnosis, learning state, or account identity. Abuse-control records are used only for delivery, troubleshooting, rate limiting, and spam prevention and are bounded to the recent control window.
When enabled, post-exam measurement separately counts actual next-step-card views, study-link and notification clicks, accepted email requests and confirmations. These events contain no email, email hash, subscription reference, exam session, score, topic, token or raw URL. Browser event counts respect Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control; measurement is independent of email choices.
Optional email choices
When optional email signup is available, you can request one message when guided practice launches. A separate, unticked checkbox lets you choose emails about new mock exams, practice questions and offers from Highlight Prep. You confirm the purposes you selected by email. The free exam, answer review and Study Guide remain available without signing up.
We store your email address, the purposes and consent wording you selected, and request, confirmation and withdrawal records. We use short-lived hashed network information for abuse prevention and protected delivery records to send confirmation messages reliably. Email signup records are separate from your exam answers, score and anonymous session.
We use Resend to deliver these emails. Each email identifies the operator and provides a contact, privacy link and account-free unsubscribe link. You can immediately stop launch notifications, marketing, or all of these emails. Bounce and complaint suppression applies to both purposes. Confirmation emails use no open or click tracking.
Launch subscriptions are kept until the notification is sent, you unsubscribe, or the launch is cancelled. Marketing subscriptions are kept while you remain subscribed and the selected purpose is relevant. Abandoned, unconfirmed requests are removed after their short confirmation and recovery window. We retain only necessary consent and suppression evidence to respect withdrawals and handle complaints; provider records and backups follow their normal retention lifecycle. Contact support@highlightprep.com about access, correction, withdrawal or deletion.
