RBT definition

Confidential information

A study guide to protecting client and service information in records, conversations, digital systems, and public statements.

In plain language

Confidentiality means handling client and service information according to applicable requirements, organizational procedures, and supervisor direction. Convenience is not a reason to disclose information through an unapproved channel.

When studying, identify the information at risk, who is authorized to receive it, and the approved way to communicate it. Public descriptions should avoid identifying details and should not imply credentials or outcomes that are not supported.
